There is no fee to apply for Housing.Housing assignments are made on the order of housing application date/time. The earlier students register, the better room selection they will have.New students can select housing for McCraray & Still Halls, and any other available rooms not claimed byupperclassmen at this time.-A $100.00 cancellation fee will be charged anytime housing is canceled prior to move-in day for the Fall semester, new student move in day is Friday, August 16, 2025. See the freshman residency requirement for all new students.

Summer Housing portal will be open Wednesday, April 23, 2025 - Wednesday, May 21, 2025.Due to construction/building upgrades Summer Housing in Asbury/Thompson will not be available.Summer Housing will be in Culbertson Hall during Summer 2025.
Monday, May 26, 2025Summer I move-in from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. on Monday, May 26, check out on Saturday, Jun 28, 2025 (if notstaying for Summer II or not paying for Interim Summer II housing).
Saturday, June 28, 2025 - Saturday, July 5, 2025Interim Summer I Housing*Interim Summer Housing is not included in Summer I or Summer II housing costs and is offered at $25.00 pernight.
Sunday, July 6, 2025Summer II move-in from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. on Sunday, July 6, check out on Saturday, August 9 by noon (ifnot staying for the Fall 2025 semester or not paying for Interim Summer II housing).
Saturday, August 9, 2025 - Saturday, August 17, 2025Interim Summer II to Fall HousingInterim Summer to Fall Housing is not included in Summer or Fall housing costs and is offered at $25.00 per night. Only students with a housing assignment for the fall 2025 semester and in good standing with the College may be permitted for extended stay.
Saturday, May 10, 2025All residence halls will close at 5 p.m. on Saturday, May 10, 2025, for the semester. Students are required to check out 24 hours after their last exam and complete the check-out process by scheduling a time with the Office of Housing and Residence Life. Check out times are available from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.Monday, May 5, 2025 - Friday, May 10, 2025. Email wisehousing@uvawise.edu to schedule a check out time.Rooms must be restored to their original move-in condition and receive a thorough inspection by the residentand staff member. Failure to check out properly will result in an improper check-out fee, and any damagesresulting from an improper check-out cannot be appealed.ALL HOUSING/RESIDENTIAL FACILITIES will be completely closed from Saturday, May 10, 2025 to Sunday, May 25, 2025 due to various construction projects, spraying of halls, disinfecting buildings, mattress and furniturereplacement, building upgrades, room inventories, and other necessities.
Need to Submit a Work Order? Contact your RA and they can submit one on your behalf! The maintenance department processes work orders Monday-Friday 7:00 am - 3:30 pm.

New students (freshmen, transfers & readmits) complete a 3-step Orientation process prior to enrolling at UVA Wise:
Signup invitation emails are sent to the personal email of all confirmed students. After signup, all information is sent ONLY to the UVA Wise email, so be sure to check if often and regularly.

All new UVA Wise freshmen (residential & commuter) will participate in Expedition on Sunday before classes begin each fall. This students-only event provides a full-day of interaction and fun to give you additional timely information for a successful start to your first semester at UVA Wise. You will participate as a team of fellow students led by an upperclass Expedition Leader (EL).

After the start of each fall semester, be sure to watch your UVA Wise email for more information about First-Year Fridays! Held each Friday for the first six weeks of the fall semester, OSE will provide you with essential resources and giveaways right when you need them.
While FY Fridays are specifically planned for freshmen, they are actually open to all UVA Wise students! 😀
