Have you updated your contact information for the Emergency Alert System?  UVa-Wise has implemented an emergency alert notification system to notify our campus community about a crisis or emergency situations.  Also, College closures and schedule changes will use the same contact information.   It is quick, easy and FREE!

FALL BREAK INFORMATION

THANKSGIVING BREAK

STARTS: WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 21 @ 9AM

ENDS: SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 25 @ 9AM


UVa-Wise Residence Halls will close at 9am on Wednesday, November 21 and will reopen on Sunday, November 25 at 9am. Students will be removed from the building CAVS Card key-swipe access system during this time (unless they have been approved to stay over the break) and cannot enter the building during the break period.

 

Students who have a legitimate need to stay in the halls over the break period must submit the Request to Stay Over Break Form to the Office of Housing & Residence Life (Cantrell Hall) by FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 16. For non-college business, there is a per night charge of $20. There is no charge for official-College business; signature of your coach/supervisor is required on the form.

HOME RIDE PROGRAM

UVA-WISE HOME RIDE PROGRAM

The Home Ride program is a direct transportation route to the Student Activities Building in Charlottesville from campus, allowing students an additional option to get home during major college breaks (Fall, Thanksgiving, Winter, and Spring Breaks).  Students can either purchase a one-way ticket, or round trip to get back to campus at the end of the break.  The pick-up and drop off point for campus is the McCraray Hall parking lot.

Fall Break Details

Wednesday, November 21 @ 9am—depart campus for Charlottesville, VA (from McCraray Hall parking lot)

Sunday, November 25 @ 2pm—depart Charlottesville, VA (from Student Activities Building) for UVa-Wise

Cost

Round trip tickets are $120.

One Way tickets are $60.

Tickets can be purchased in the UVa-Wise Bookstore.

Room Changes

ROOM CHANGES BEGIN ON

WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 22. 2018

 

Room changes will only be permitted if all parties agree to a switch and/or a student is moving to a room with availability. Students will not be permitted to move to an empty room unless they declare that room a private. First year students and upperclass students are not permitted to room together. 

Private rooms can be declared beginning on Wednesday, August 22. The fee for a private room is an additional $1000 per semester and is billed to your student account. You can only declare your room a private if you do not currently have a roommate or you move to a vacant room.

Room changes can be completed by visiting the housing office located on the 1st floor, Cantrell Hall from 8am-noon and 1pm-5pm.

Room changes will be permitted until Friday, November 30, 2018.

FALL 2018 PAYMENT DUE BY AUGUST 10, 2018

 

Pay-on-line or set up a payment plan at:   https://my.uvawise.edu/ICS  Log in and go to the Student Tab and Select "Pay  my bill with NELNET" on left

 

TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE FIVE (5) PAY PAYMENT PLAN YOU MUST ENROLL BY AUGUST 8, 2018 AFTER AUGUST 8 IT WILL BE FOUR (4) MONTHLY PAYMENTS.

 

 

 

PLEASE CHECK the Financial Aid tab above to see if there are documents missing to complete your financial aid file.  We cannot process your file until all required documents have been turned in.   (If one of your required documents contains the words "Office Use Only" please come to the Financial Aid Office and request a Deferment if you have not already done so.
